PRISM Nexus 5 Stack Stunt Kites
So you have some inner, unfulfilled need to impress a crowd, the Nexus 5-stack is the big show in a small package that’s guaranteed to dominate the beach. Of course, in a breeze you’ll be leaving mile-long tracks in the sand so they’ll be hard-pressed to get your autograph, but life could be a lot worse.
Your own personal kite festival comes pre-assembled and ready to rock, with matching tails and a cool zippered case that lets you keep the kites fully assembled for quick setup and take-down.
I bought the Micron as my first stunt kite, despite warnings from kiters that it would be too fast. It's not a kite for mastering the basics, but after a couple of practice sessions on larger stunt kites I was ready to give her a go.
She's bloody ballistic! Trust me, if you're out kiting with your mates, everyone's going to be watching you because you're the one attached to the buzzing, spinning thing that moves like a nitro-powered hornet. Build quality is good for the money, but the lines are cheap and degrade after hard use. One of my rubber spar supports is a little loose and drops the spar occasionally, but this usually only happens when the wind is too high for the kite.
Control is telepathic, via millimetre motions of your fingers. You can successfully fly using index and middle fingers of a single hand 8D. You are guaranteed to wet yourself laughing flying this thing!
The whole package is tiny, cheap and chock full of awesome! 5 out of 5 for intermediate flyers and above. Not ideal for beginners.
