The Juice is our light wind kite and therefore perfect for freeriding
in light winds. Available in two sizes, 15 and 17m, it’s a
great kite for riders looking for a light wind cruiser with playful
characteristics, good handling and amazing jumping abilities.
The Juice is dynamic and exciting; riders can enjoy smooth fast
turns, plenty of low-end power and excellent float through the
air too. The kite is also incredibly easy to relaunch, something
that is important in light winds. These characteristics have been
achieved by using a light wind construction method that keeps
the kite in the air in the smallest of breezes. Using just three
struts also reduces the weight but ensures the canopy is stable
when the wind increases, giving the kite a good wind range. If
you want to be the first person on the water, you need the Juice
in your life!
WHAT’S NEW ON THE 2018 JUICE?
The Juice has been redesigned to match the latest trends in light
wind kiting and foiling. We tweaked the Juice towards a high
aspect ratio and higher Delta without compromising handling
BETTER UPWIND ABILITY & ACCELERATION
The new Juice 2018 moves faster towards the edge of the wind
window, allowing to go upwind more easily. Due to the faster
and thinner profiles, the kite also accelerates faster, helping to
find more grip and therefore more pop for jumps. This results in
higher and incredibly floating jumps.
BrisKites initial review of the 2018 Juice-
My initial thoughts and experience on the new 2018 North Juice updated design.
Pumping the new 17m up for the first time and it is obvious the new Juice is very different than previous models. Aside from construction changes like the new Trinity cloth, the kite is very obviously higher aspect than previous models. It also has a much more rounded sweep in the wingtips.
In the air-
As expected with the new shape the Juice now pushes much further to the edge of the window and drives upwind with great ease. The jumping is natural and offers a little more float than previous models.
It seems North have managed to maintain good turning speed despite the higher aspect. I was able to complete a couple of loops in very light wind on the 17m before landing back down.
The new Juice has possibly lost a small amount of it's freestyle unhooked capability however overall I feel the overall experience is much better and the kite should have a much wider appeal. Probably the nicest and most versatile 17m kite I have flown to date.
We loaned this kite to a couple of riders and the feedback is much the same.
