North Fuse 2010
SKU: 542
|
Overview
This year North introduces a new kite in its 2010 kite range, the FUSE is a 4 line kite. A kite designed for freeride and waves that aims to revolutionize the future of 4-line kites both in performance and handling. The Fuse is a powerful kite, with great wind range and great jumping ability with a new flange system that provides a good feeling at the bar, safe and easy.
The 2010 Fuse has a unique and simple angle of attack control bridle which gives it smooth and reactive steering, even when de-powered. Making it a huge step forward in terms of manouverability and directness on 4 lines.
Lots of low end power and extreme resistance to back stalling gives the 2010 Fuse great light wind capabilities.
The North Fuse is constructed from the newest Techno Force canopy material which is more resistant to tearing than conventional materials.
Lazy one-pump simplicity will get you on the water quickly.

As shown in the image in the first 2 positions the pulley flange system comes across a “stopper” that North has inserted to prevent the pulley from surpassing that point and cause poor performance. Furthermore, this cap also helps to provide a better feel on the bar to avoid the nagging feeling steering that is offered with some kites with pulley systems.
You can see how it looks when you activate the security system of pulleys are fully liberated and move without the “stopper” affects them allowing the kite to lose all power in a way very much as if it will activate a system of 5th line.
Reviews
Add Your ReviewHere are our main findings on the 2010 North Fuse-
- Awesome upwind ability for a bridled kite
- Light to medium bar pressure (Lighter than other North Kites)
- Relaunch is excellent
- Safety works as they claim and the kite will roll on to it's back to kill all power
- Medium turn speed (A bit slower than the 2010 Rebel)
- Float and hang time is phenomenal!! One of the best hangtime kites ever.....
Build-
North have really nailed it on quality this year. Nothing to note except it looks superb.
Summary-
A great freeride kite for those who like hangtime and ease of use. Simple to use, powerful and predictable. Not really for the unhooked rider but that's what the Vegas and Evo are for.
Good for park and ride wave riding but the Rebel is better for most wave conditions.
